The Blackmagic URSA EF is a high-end 4K digital cinema camera featuring a 10-inch foldable monitor, a detachable 4K Super 35 image sensor with global shutter, and a built-in recorder with support for RAW and ProRes formats. Built-in systems for controlling exposure, focus and sound levels allow the cinematographer to obtain consistently high results. In addition, firmware 2.3 allows the camera to record rapids! Now Blackmagic URSA records in full HD 1920x1080 up to 150 frames per second, and in RAW 4K format up to 80 frames per second, and also writes AppleProRes 4:4:4.
The Blackmagic URSA camera body is made from polished aluminum and is cooled by a very quiet fan, and the camera is designed to allow you to easily install new sensors as they are released. At the same time, separate functional blocks are provided for the operator, assistant operator and sound engineer. The operator's workspace includes a 10-inch foldable monitor for viewing images while shooting and an additional 5-inch screen for monitoring optical systems, settings and camera status. The assistant has a separate screen at his disposal, and the sound controls and audio connectors are separated into a separate block.
Blackmagic URSA features a 4K sensor with global shutter and 12 stops of wide dynamic range. The Super 35 sensor allows you to shoot with a low depth of field, and the Cinema DNG RAW format used to compress 12-bit Ultra HD video without visual loss guarantees high image quality. Ultra HD and HD footage can also be recorded in Apple ProRes™ format, which does not require large amounts of data storage and is convenient for post-processing. 
The Blackmagic URSA has a dual-slot recorder, so you don't have to stop recording to change media. It is enough to install two CFast memory cards, and after the first one is full, saving will continue on the other, and you can change the first card right during shooting. Support for the new CFast technology allows recording at up to 510 Mbps, which is ideal for working with the RAW format when high frame rates are used. You can view footage shot in RAW format on a 10-inch screen.
The Blackmagic URSA EF camera has an active lens control function with EF mount lenses, which allows you to use inexpensive Canon EF, Carl Zeiss, etc. lenses in film production. All basic settings are made on the touch screen on the left side of the body. There are also control buttons here, so you don't need to go to the menu to make changes. On the right side are grouped settings for format, frame rate and shutter angle. Timecode output is supported, there is an animated image histogram, an audio waveform monitor with clipping indicators, and a system for more precise focus setting.
The Blackmagic URSA camera features standard broadcast quality connectors. 12G-SDI output supports both Ultra HD and lower HD resolutions. The 12G-SDI input allows you to display return video or image from an external source on a 10-inch monitor. Using a separate SDI output, you can connect external viewfinders and optical equipment. For audio processing, two XLR connectors with 48 V power supply are provided, which makes it possible to connect professional-level microphones. Timecode input and output is supported, and the LANC port allows remote control of the camera, lenses and accessories.
The Blackmagic URSA camera can be powered either using a standard 4-pin XLR connector for connecting external power supplies with a voltage of 12-30V, or using mains power. The camera also includes a 4-pin 12V XLR connector, which allows you to connect other viewfinders without the need for expensive dedicated cables.
